Were looking for a Child Welfare Supervisor to join our Livingston Parish Child Welfare team - a proactive people-focused team working to provide support to the families and children within the community. This position works to supervise the Foster Care team to provide support and resources to the foster care families and community in the area.

Minimum Qualifications
Six years of experience in child welfare; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in child welfare; OR
A bachelors degree plus three years of experience in child welfare; OR
An advanced degree in a social science or behavioral health field nursing or a juris doctorate plus two years of experience in child welfare.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
A current drivers license and access to a personal vehicle.
NOTE:
The incumbent of this position must not have been convicted or pled nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15.587.1 (c).Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Provide direct line supervision through supervisory conferences case staffing unit staffing/conferences on the job training case consultation and review of work assignments to Child Welfare Specialists
- Leads Family Teams Conferences
- Orient staff on DCFS policy and procedures as well as local office and unit policy and procedures
- Assesses ongoing training needs for staff and either provide training or arrange trainings within agency procedures
- Prepare workers for testifying as witnesses in juvenile court cases
- Review and evaluate work performance and counsels with employees
- Assist the Child Welfare Manager in the coordination of scheduling of staff development and training and assuring that adequate office coverage is maintained
Position-Specific Details:
This position is located in the Livingston Parish Child Welfare Office.Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group
Compensation:The referenced position has a minimum Special Entrance Rate (SER) see below:
Child Welfare Supervisor: $26.91/hr.
This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a classified permanent employee.How To Apply:
