Job Summary
Join an expanding group of General Surgeons Acute Care Surgeons and Advanced Practice Providers at a community Level II Trauma Center in Northern IL. UW Northern Illinois is recruiting full Trauma and Emergency General Surgeons. Must have an MD or DO board certification in General Surgery ATLS ACLS certifications with the ability to obtain an unrestricted IL license.
Opportunity Details
- Full-time position is 14 days per month in 1 or 2 blocks that includes weekday and weekend call shifts
- 100% Acute Care/Trauma practice - no elective practice
- Cover trauma alerts and EGS consultations
- Round on 30-bed ICU step-down unit and medical/surgical floors
- On-site clinic is covered by APP and supported by elective general surgeons
- Advanced Practice Provider coverage 7-5 weekdays 7-3 weekends with on call APP for OR assisting
- 3 Xi Davinci Robots with 24/7 access for acute care surgery
- Over 900 trauma & EGS cases/year
- ED volume: 72000/year
- Epic EMR
- Call response time within 30 minutes to hospital
Education
- MD or DO - Required
License/Certifications
- Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire - Required
- Active Illinois medical license - Required
- Board Certification or Board Eligible in Endocrinology. Board certification must be obtained within 5 years - Required
- Bi-annual CPR certification - Preferred
