Job Description

Overview

The Office of Force Resilience Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides high-level advisory and analytical support for force resilience support services. The Office of Force Resilience SME brings deep domain knowledge and experience in strengthening and promoting work force resiliency. This position will support specific task orders requiring expert insight and is expected to engage directly with senior government stakeholders and integrated project teams.

Responsibilities

The following duties reflect managements definition of essential functions for this job but do not restrict the tasks that might be assigned. Management may assign additional duties and responsibilities at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in Office of Force Resilience including strengthening and promoting the resiliency and readiness of the Total Force or other federal agency work force through the development of integrated policies oversight and synchronization of activities in the areas of diversity management and equal opportunity personnel risk reduction suicide prevention sexual assault prevention and response and collaborative efforts with the Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal agencies.
  • Lead or support the development of policy recommendations operational strategies and implementation plans.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform leadership decisions.
  • Support the development of briefings reports and written products.
  • Advise Government clients on best practices program risks and operational impacts.
  • Participate in working groups and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Provide peer review and quality assurance for technical deliverables.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the following areas:
    • Experience supporting the VA or other federal agencies for service or civilian member programs.
    • Experience supporting the Sexual Assault Prevention Response Office (SAPR) or similar programs policy planning and oversight across DoD or other federal agencies.
    • Experience supporting government programs regarding the deterrence of drug abuse and prescription medication misuse for DoD or other federal agencies.
    • Experience providing or supporting the advocacy and program oversight for DoD or other federal agency suicide prevention intervention and postvention to reduce suicidal behavior.
    • Experience supporting the development and oversight of policies and programs to promote a DoD or other federal agency culture of dignity and respect that values diversity and inclusion.
    • Experience supporting the development and oversight of policies and programs for prevention of destructive behaviors for DoD or other federal agencies.
  • Recognized industry academic or government leader in their field.
  • Bachelors degree required; masters or doctoral degree preferred.
  • Experience supporting the Department of Defense or federal agencies preferred.

Clearance Requirements: Active Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred or required based on task order.

Location: Varies by task order. May include on-site at the Pentagon Wright-Patterson AFB or other federal sites. Remote work is possible based on client needs and approval.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands wrists and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
