Commercial Quantity Surveyor

Tower Hamlets

Full Time Permanent

Salary up to 48000 per annum plus car allowance or company vehicle

About the Role:

We have a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team within our busy Tower Hamlets office. As our Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for managing all costs relating to our projects. Your focus is to minimise the costs of a project and enhance margin and value for money whilst still achieving the required standards and quality. This will also include procurement subcontract management inclusive of administration of the contract monthly payments and final account settlement.

  • Progressing works through the system on works that have been completed
  • Working on MCM
  • Speaking with the Client
  • Dealing with Queries
  • Dealing with incorrect values
  • Progression of works
  • Working closely with GM
  • Working with the Financial and Commercial team
  • Will be involved with social value activities

Role Criteria:

  • Construction knowledge
  • Previous experience as a quantity surveyor.
  • Knowledge of NHF
  • Experience in SOR codes
  • Repairs and Maintenance Experience
  • Excellent IT analytical and communication skills
  • Strong mathematical ability
  • Ability to assess and analyse information
  • Good business sense
  • Good understanding of budget management
  • Negotiating and networking skills
  • Enthusiasm
  • Flexibility
  • Able to work within a busy team and under pressure
  • Good team working skills
  • Accurate with an eye for detail
  • A methodical approach
  • Willing to work extra to meet deadlines as and when the business needs require it

All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

To drive a Mears vehicle you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.

Candidates should be aware that all our roles are subject to relevant DBS/Security checks before commencement of employment.
