Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Residence Hall Director is a live-in staff member who provides leadership and development of undergraduate students; manages the administration and maintenance of buildings and real property; and resolves student conflicts including resolution of student concerns and discipline procedures related to violations of the student code of conduct.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Select train supervise and evaluate 3-8 undergraduate Resident Advisors provide feedback and document performance
- Oversee residence hall programming development and implementation to meet the goals and mission of the office of Residence Life and Greensboro College
- Document all maintenance concerns for assigned building and follow-up on timely correction
- Enforce disciplinary procedures for residential students and apply appropriate educational sanctions and/or fines for violations of the student code of conduct
- Inspect residence hall rooms and common area according to established schedule
- Serve office hours in residence life and be able to perform office procedures
- Manage student conflict
- Understand and follow all Greensboro College emergency procedures and protocols and serve in an on-call duty rotation
- Inform residents of College procedures residence hall expectations and closing dates
- Document key inventory resident rosters maintenance requests
- Model appropriate professional behavior and uphold all Greensboro College policies both on and off duty
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Earned bachelors degree
- Relevant work experience in student development and residence life preferred
