Per Diem Senior Research Scientist-School of Nursing-148 East 126th Street
The Senior Research Scientist is a senior-level health sciences research professional who conducts research to implement and evaluate educational models and health services programs to strengthen the recruitment and retention of the healthcare workforce. The Senior Research Scientist oversees the development implementation and/or evaluation of a broad portfolio of their own and faculty research projects at the Mount Sinai Phillips School of Nursing (PSON).
Responsibilities
- Oversees the conduct of systematic research to develop methodologies procedures and program evaluation for PSON faculty research activities.
- Guides faculty in developing implementing their research portfolios and supports efforts to publish their findings.
- Develops instruments for program evaluation and research studies.
- Mentors PSON facultyto explore and expand their specific subject areas to identify and potential issues and problems for further investigations and research.
- Supports faculty to develop research questions to be tested and methodologies for interpreting results.
- Leads PSON faculty in grant applications to obtain support for new and/ or continuing research activities.
- Provides input and collaborates with the Dean in decisions that have implications on the scientific research activities at PSON.
- May present at professional conferences.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
- PHD inmedical sociology or other social science with medical/health emphasis or other related health services research discipline
Experience Requirements
- 10 years minimum research experience (may include academic studies) with prior faculty role at a research university is required. Leadership experience in academic medicine higher education or non-governmental organizations (NGO) required. Track record of publications and conference presentations.
Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $143.00 - $143.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including experience education and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
