They will be responsible for legal research negotiations and generating billable hours while also engaging in professional development and business networking to support the firms success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Consultation: Conduct initial consultations to understand clients needs provide legal advice and outline possible courses of action.
- Case Management: Manage a caseload of family law cases from inception to resolution ensuring timely progress and adherence to legal deadlines.
- Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and ensure up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and precedents.
- Documentation: Prepare and review legal documents including petitions motions agreements and court filings.
- Negotiation: Negotiate settlements and agreements between parties striving for amicable resolutions while protecting clients interests.
- Court Representation: Represent clients in court hearings trials and mediations presenting evidence and arguments effectively.
- Collaboration: Work closely with paralegals legal assistants and other attorneys to ensure comprehensive case preparation and client support.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients providing updates and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Confidentiality: Uphold strict confidentiality and ethical standards in all client interactions and case management activities.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
- Minimum 5 years of experience practicing family law.
- Strong understanding of family law statutes regulations and case law.
- Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and emotionally charged situations with professionalism and empathy.
- Proven track record of successful case outcomes
