St. Francis Veterinary Specialists and Emergency A Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner is hiring for a Full-Time Veterinary Purchasing Coordinator
Required Shifts: Monday - Friday
Job Descriptions:
The Purchasing coordinator will oversee the procurement and distribution of the hospitals equipment supplies and related services.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Ensures all departments have operational equipment and supplies.
  • Maintaining and communicating medical supply orders.
  • Maintains optimal reorder levels.
  • Ensures compliance with departmental and company policies and procedures such as Thrives Controlled Substance Policy and OSHA Policy and Procedures.
  • Follows DEA regulations as outlined in Thrives Controlled Substance Policy.
  • Maintains CUBEX machine medications levels function and maintenance.
  • Distributes purchasing information to involved parties including vendors sales representatives and employees.
  • Reviews and evaluates purchase request forms for accuracy and completeness.
  • Facilitates and follows Thrives supply chain department and the internal ordering process for optimization.
  • Completes other related projects as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in a multi-department hospital
  • Thorough understanding of purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read interpret and explain policies and procedures used in purchasing.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in related field .
  • At least five years of experience in the veterinary field preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
  • May require travel.
