St. Francis Veterinary Specialists and Emergency A Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner is hiring for a Full-Time Veterinary Purchasing Coordinator
Required Shifts: Monday - Friday
Job Descriptions:
The Purchasing coordinator will oversee the procurement and distribution of the hospitals equipment supplies and related services.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensures all departments have operational equipment and supplies.
- Maintaining and communicating medical supply orders.
- Maintains optimal reorder levels.
- Ensures compliance with departmental and company policies and procedures such as Thrives Controlled Substance Policy and OSHA Policy and Procedures.
- Follows DEA regulations as outlined in Thrives Controlled Substance Policy.
- Maintains CUBEX machine medications levels function and maintenance.
- Distributes purchasing information to involved parties including vendors sales representatives and employees.
- Reviews and evaluates purchase request forms for accuracy and completeness.
- Facilitates and follows Thrives supply chain department and the internal ordering process for optimization.
- Completes other related projects as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to effectively communicate in a multi-department hospital
- Thorough understanding of purchasing policies and procedures.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read interpret and explain policies and procedures used in purchasing.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in related field .
- At least five years of experience in the veterinary field preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
- May require travel.
