The School of Arts & Sciences at Walsh University is accepting applications for adjunct faculty to teach sections of the following undergraduateTheologycourses:
THEO 101 The Judeo-Christian Tradition
This course introduces students to their mission as members of Walsh University becoming leaders in service to others and to the values that inform that mission. Students will explore the Judeo-Christian roots of these values as exemplified and taught by Jesus Christ. Students will also explore the harmony between the Judeo-Christian tradition and the philosophy of Aristotle.
THEO 102 The Catholic Intellectual Tradition
Building on their orientation to the Judeo-Christian Tradition (THEO 101) this course explores the core characteristics of the Catholic Intellectual Tradition including the continuity between faith and reason the commitment to truth in all academic disciplines and the application of the sacramental principle to intellectual thought.
Classes meet for eight weeks and there are two eight-week terms per semester. The sections are offered consecutively: one from August 18 to October 11; the other from October 20 to December 13. Adjunct faculty are expected to hold one office hour each week for each section they teach.
Requirements:
Candidates should possess a minimum of a masters degree in Theology with a minimum of 30 graduate credit hours in the subject to be taught and preferably have experience teaching at the undergraduate level. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate an ability to teach the process of college writing and researching as well as critical thinking and oral communication skills. All theologians teaching theology at Walsh University are required to secure the Mandatum
