Job Description

Position Summary:

Work involves servicing forklifts and motorized lifts (cherry pickers) on a government facility. Must be able to complete general routine maintenance and troubleshooting repairs.

Duties:

  • Troubleshoot to locate mechanical hydraulic and electrical malfunctions; may use Diagonostic equipment
  • Operate forklifts and motorized lifts for quality checks after repairs
  • Service forklifts with water fuel oils or lubricants and apply cleaning solvents
  • Align adjust repair or replace worn or broken mechanical components
  • Use hand or power tools and precision measuring tools

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years previous experience servicing and diagnosing motorized lifts
  • Previous Experience in maintenance of construction equipment warehouse equipment farm diesel small engines and lift trucks recommended
  • Must be able to lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 70 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 40 pounds
  • Must be able to climb in and out of military vehicles and related equipment
  • Must be able to stand for at least two continuous hours
  • Must be able to work in cramped areas for at least two continuous hours
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat heavy wind blowing sand heavy rain and snow and sleet
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a forklift operator license (onsite training available)
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read write and speak English.
  • A good working knowledge of equipment maintenance programs policies nomenclature work methods manuals or other established guidelines.
  • An understanding of the needs of the organization serviced.
  • Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved to collect the necessary data to establish the facts and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.
  • Eligible for and be able to obtain a U.S. Government motor vehicle operators permit for assigned class of vehicle.
  • Must have the ability to be cleared for a NACI clearance to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
