Summary:
Safely assemble and fit detail parts and structures; perform drilling and riveting operations ensuring parts meet requirements. Perform sheet metal layout fabrication and installation of parts and equipment on aircraft.
Rivet structural assemblies and parts using tools such as portable riveting guns pneumatic drills countersinks rivet shavers files and reamers.
Able to remove fasteners without damaging the structure.
Read work orders blueprints lofts sketches and operation sheets to determine operation sequences rivet sizes and hole patterns.
Cut and form plastics and follow procedures when using adhesives sealants and solvents.
Inspect work to ensure assemblies are defect-free before final inspection.
Maintain and use logs and records (e.g. MIR sheets DMTs Crabs PCOs).
Align and assemble parts using jigs fixtures clamps and fasteners; shape and form complex angles per blueprint or instructions.
Repair per Discrepant Material Tags (DMT) Material Review Requests (MRR) and Production Change Orders (PCO); perform rework to ensure conformity.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area; support 5S initiatives and comply with all safety regulations; use personal protective equipment as required.
Properly collect and dispose of waste fluids and solvent rags.
Ensure accurate daily job charging to aircraft.
Exchange job-related information and coordinate work between shifts via turnover meetings and direct leadership contact.
Assist in maintaining shop equipment and associated Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
Support Lean activities and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 2 years of related structural assembly experience.
Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Basic computer skills and shop math proficiency.
Ability to read scales and perform basic shop math calculations.
Ability to read and comprehend basic documents and instructions.
Essential personal skills: hands-on aptitude professional attitude attention to detail teamwork and ability to meet demanding schedules.
Demonstrated good housekeeping and safety practices.
Ability to work with composite resins and materials.
Ability to work any shift.
Ability to climb ladders stands stairs; work in confined spaces; and lift up to 50 lbs.
Proficient in reading writing speaking and understanding English.
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
