Job Duties
The Preston Library seeks an inter-library loan manager who will oversee ILL operations. The library is an active member of the VIVA consortium and its operations are built on ILLiad and Rapid.
This is a Library services staff position pay band 4. This position reports to the library director.
Staring date is August 1 2025.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
- Manage document fulfilment and delivery operations for Preston Library. Manages all aspects of the Interlibrary Loan service exercising a high degree of independence to ensure timely efficient and effective operations.
- Apply knowledge of research methods and materials to locate verify and order requested materials using online subscription databases library catalog and other web resources.
- Manage financial transactions related to document fulfillment and delivery service in collaboration with the Acquisitions Coordinator for payment
- Manage software related to document fulfillment and delivery service such as ILLiad Odyssey RapidILL OCLC First Search and WorldCat
- Train and supervise part-time employee and cadet assistants in their support of document fulfillment and delivery operations (borrowing acquisition and lending functions).
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- Experience with ILL operations and familiarity with ILLiad
- Must be proficient with ILLiad EDS FOLIO RapidILL OCLC FirstSearch.
- Must be familiar with VIVA resource sharing community
- Attention to detail
- Customer service orientation
- College degree
