The Opportunity
The Student Health Care Center (SHCC) at the University of Florida is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As an LPN at the Student Health Care Center (SHCC) at the University of Florida (UF) the incumbent will coordinate patient flow under the direction of an RN ensuring optimal care quality across all SHCC Teams. The incumbent will provide patient care following Nursing License standards including providing treatments performing procedures administering medications screening and counseling patients and collecting and documenting vital signs visual acuity and Point-of-Care testing. Additionally the incumbent will deliver independent patient care using SHCCs Nursing Standing Orders & Practice Protocols.
Nursing Responsibilities and Clinical Duties:
Education and Counseling:
Coordinates and maintains adequate inventory levels of medications and medical supplies; and ensures that medical equipment is in proper working condition.
Provides professional nursing weekend coverage at least one Sunday per month or as needed. Provides professional nursing coverage to other SHCC clinics as assigned. Floats to all clinical teams as needed for training and standardization.
Participates in regular staff and team meetings staff development programs and other duties as assigned.

Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at a rate of 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.
Current CPR/Basic Life Support Certification.
