Job Description
River Hospital is looking for a passionate and experienced Sonographer to join our team! As a Sonographer you will be responsible for providing ultrasound imaging services to patients in a safe comfortable and professional environment. You will also be responsible for operating and maintaining ultrasound equipment and ensuring quality results. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sonography and the ability to interpret ultrasound you have a passion for providing excellent patient care and demonstrating strong communication skills we want to hear from you!
This is a per diem/causal position. Hourly rate is based on years of licensure/workingas a sonographer.
Job Purpose
Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with approved techniques and standards as established by radiologist governing and professional bodies. Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. Operates ultrasound equipment with a conscious effort to assure comprehensive studies which aid in a diagnosis of disease or the measure of disease progress. Recognizes the purpose of employment is to prioritize the patient as number one and to put forth the utmost quality as a technologist.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program of Ultrasound Technology.
- Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the subspecialties of abdomenobstetric/gynecology vascular. (May be in process of obtaining)
- Minimum of one year experience in diagnostic medical ultrasound.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Verbal and written skills.
Working conditions
Potential exposure to blood/body fluids and other infectious body substances.
Physical requirements
Sittingstanding lifting bending and stretching.
