Job Description

Canteen Operator

Large multi-campus Christian school

Pakenham location

Ongoing part-time position (Wed to Friday during terms)

Chairo Christian School is a growing non-denominational Christian school with 1900 Kinder to Year 12 students attending five picturesque campuses in West and South Gippsland the Latrobe Valley and the south-eastern outskirts of Melbourne.

Our mission is to provide excellence in Christ-centred education in partnership with families within a caring Christian community. In doing this we aim to prepare students thoroughly for further study careers service opportunities enabling them to live their life with purpose.

We are seeking the services of a dedicated Canteen Operator to join the team at our Pakenham campus in Term 3 this year. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a caring Christian environment and deliver a friendly and efficient canteen service at the campus.

Some key responsibilities will include:

Operating the campus canteen and delivering friendly service to students and staff members

Preparing and purchasing food for sale through the canteen in accordance with the schools food safety standards

Processing online orders using My School Connect

Cleaning and organising the canteen and equipment as may be required

Assisting with canteen money management in accordance with school policy

The successful candidate will have the following:

Demonstrated commitment to the schools Statement of Faith

Food handling/hygiene certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Experience in food preparation or kitchen management (desirable)

Ability to relate to students and staff members in a caring friendly and helpful manner
