The Boeing CompanyOur Finance Shared Services (FSS) Estimating Center of Expertise (COE) organization is seeking an Experienced Estimator to support the Government Estimating and Pricing for Space Mission Systems team located El Segundo California.
This position will support U.S. Government contracts and proposal activities supporting Government Satellites Systems.
The candidate will be responsible for leading a variety of estimating tasks including estimate and cost volume preparation proposal development fact-finding and negotiation. The candidate will be a part of a unique cross-functional team working with Contracts Estimating Supplier Management Business Development and Program Management to evaluate customer requests for proposals and statements of work and maintain communications with internal and external partners to ensure cost proposals are accurate complete and of the highest quality.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops estimates and prices from technical requirements through the design build and aftermarket support stages of the program
Develops prepares and validates estimates and prices
Evaluates requests for proposal substantiates estimates/pricing and assembles price Proposals
Develops estimating and pricing methods
Develops Priced Bills of Materials and supporting documentation
Evaluates and develops business cases
Performs analyses and provides recommendations in support of pricing/estimating (risk financial competitive etc.)
Develops and maintains pricing models
Incorporates data into and maintains structured systems and coordinates program
database requirements
Develops/applies/maintains rates and factors for estimating pricing and proposals
Performs compliance activities including policy and procedure development system/tool deployment and training delivery
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring teams discretion and could potentially change in the future.
BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelors degree or higher
1 years of experience in a Finance Accounting Business or related role
1 years of work experience with the Microsoft Excel application using: formulas VLookups pivot tables charts filters and linking worksheets
1 years or experience working with analytics data and spreadsheets to build presentations and make recommendations
Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate data in Senior Leadership briefings
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3 years of experience performing cost estimating/pricing function
Experience working in multifaceted and diverse teams across multiple functions
Experience leading projects with little direct supervision and drive project to completion
Experience with critical thinking problem solving negotiation communication and interpersonal skills
Experience working under tight deadlines with competing priorities
Understanding of proposal process and experience using data analysis to drive decision making
Knowledge of United States Government (USG) Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
