EO Solutions is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Optical Engineer to join our Directed Energy Laser Development team. In this role you will play a key part in the design development and testing of next-generation high-power directed energy systems. As part of a fast-paced and vertically integrated environment you will work across interdisciplinary teams to drive concepts from initial design through prototyping and into full product releaseserving critical military and defense applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply deep knowledge of lasers fiber optics and opto-mechanical systems to create innovative high-power fiber amplifiers
Lead technical development in assigned areas managing both design and execution tasks with ownership
Collaborate within a cross-functional engineering team to develop advanced fiber laser system architectures
Design model and implement components such as seed lasers amplifier stages and integrated opto-mechanical subsystems
Conduct testing and characterization of complex fiber laser systems to validate performance and reliability
Support integration and troubleshooting efforts during system build and verification phases
Document designs results and technical insights and present to internal stakeholders and external partners as needed
Qualifications:
Required:
Masters or Ph.D. in Physics Optical Engineering Electrical Engineering Materials Science or a related field
Hands-on experience with the design and development of fiber and/or solid-state lasers and amplifiers
Strong foundation in laser physics fiber optics and opto-mechanical engineering principles
Proficient in laboratory techniques for laser alignment system testing and optical diagnostics
Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges through analytical thinking and experimental validation
Experience with fiber laser system modeling and practical design for manufacturability is preferred
Familiarity with opto-mechanical design for military/defense systems is a plus
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical findings clearly
Self-motivated team player with leadership capabilities and a collaborative mindset
