Job Summary:
Responsibilities of the APP position include management of inpatient neurosurgical patients with spinal and/or cranial pathology perioperative management and first assist in surgical cases as appropriate. The APP will work closely with other members of the Neurosurgery service including APPs and residents. This service is heavily weighted towards inpatient care. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of organization but an equally strong flexibility and skill in dealing with rapidly changing clinical situations and daily schedules. This is a highly collaborative team consisting of multiple physicians and corresponding outpatient APPs. This team functions as a single cohesive unit with one APP responsible for inpatient management.

The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (CU-SOM) has a full-time clinical faculty position available for an Advanced Practice Provider. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be a clinical faculty member of the CU-SOM entering at the level of Instructor. This position encompasses inpatient medical care services for patients suffering from a wide range of neurosurgical spinal disorders (including Degenerative spine diseases Spinal deformities Spinal tumors Spinal trauma Osteoporotic/Geriatric spinal pathologies and Revision spinal surgery to treat failed fusions or adjacent level pathologies). As a faculty member of the CU-SOM opportunities for professional development may include precept of medical learners education of nursing and medical staff participation in quality and safety improvement projects clinical research projects and mentoring residents and junior Advanced Practice Providers.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$130000-$147846
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
