St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is a coeducational non-sectarian college preparatory day school serving more than 920 students in kindergarten through grade 12. Our two campuses are located approximately a mile apart in St. Paul Minnesota serving Grades K-5 on our Goodrich Campus and Grades 6-12 on our Randolph Campus. The school draws students from St. Paul Minneapolis and throughout the eastern and western suburbs.

About the Lower School:
When you walk through the front doors of our Lower School youll immediately feel just how special a place this is for students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. From the welcoming Living Room just inside the front door (often warmed by a cozy fire in the fireplace) to the bright and spacious classrooms and hallways adorned with student artwork to the five acres of open green space just outside our back door the Lower School is designed around the academic social and emotional needs of young children. Our culture is defined by our warm and welcoming community our commitment to diversity equity and inclusion and our innovative curriculum.
Our small classes 7:1 student/teacher ratio and team-teaching model are the building blocks of the Lower School experience along with the TOOLBOX social/emotional program which gives both children and adults a common language for community values and problem-solving.

Position Begins: August 2025
Status: Part-time Non-Exempt 10-Month Instructional Support
Hours: M-F 3:00 - 6:00 PM
Salary Range: $17/hour
Department: Instructional Support Lower School PreKindergarten Aide
Position Description:
Candidates must be able to support young learners in all core subjects (literacy math and social studies) assist with class and foster a nurturing engaging classroom. Collaboration with teaching partners colleagues and families is essential. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required as is knowledge of best instructional practices in literacy math and social studies.
Preferred qualifications include experience with Responsive Classroom Primary/Singapore Math and/or Reggio Emilia.
Candidates must be committed to developing cultural competence in their teaching and working effectively in diverse environments. This includes differentiating instruction collaborating effectively with colleagues and families and demonstrating strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills to build rapport and trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Other Responsibilities Include
Cleaning organizing and resetting curricular areas
Assist with:
Observations
Conferences
Work Sampling/Documentation
Supporting students with classroom needs including clothing changes hygiene etc.
Outdoor play and supervision
Additional requirements include:
Ability to lift 35 lbs sit on small chairs and/or floor
Occasional attendance at school events outside of school hours
Attend Professional Development as required
Effective cross-cultural communication skills. Able to operate effectively in diverse environments and interact successfully with people from widely varying backgrounds in a friendly and professional manner.
