WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:

We are currently seeking a professional innovative and enthusiastic Executive Director for our South Puget Sound and Olympics Chapter (SPSO). Our office is in University Place but this position deeply supports the communities of Clallam Grays Harbor Jefferson Kitsap Lewis Mason Pierce and Thurston. This position is an external-facing role focusing on community relations/capacity building (focused on areas requiring more resiliency) fundraising and board leadership.This candidate must be comfortable being the face of the Red Cross in the SPSO geography. This position supports region-partnered mission initiatives by providing facilitative leadership to local teams and updating regional leadership on the communitys needs assets and perceptions. The Executive Director will also be responsible for strengthening relationships with our community partners by educating them on the programs and opportunities the American Red Cross offers and finding opportunities to partner more position reports to the Regional Executive serves as the primary liaison to the community and is supported by Community Volunteer Leaders and the Chapter Board.

Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal State and local regulations.

  • Dynamic Leadership of the South Puget Sound and Olympics Chapter:As the Chapters leader you will be the vital link between the American Red Cross and the communities we serve ensuring our presence is deeply felt and our mission creates lasting change. You will expand our impact forging strong connections to ensure that the Red Cross is woven into the fabric of our communities.
  • Building Transformative Relationships:You will be a key ambassador cultivating meaningful relationships with influential community leaders businesses philanthropists and elected officials. Your leadership will drive the achievement of chapter and regional goals by expanding the reach and capacity of the Red Cross in the chapter. Your reach will enhance volunteer engagement disaster services services to military members veterans and their families and blood collection.
  • Championing an Influential Board of Directors:You will develop and lead a diverse influential and well-connected Board of Directors empowering these local champions to galvanize resources and support for the Red Cross. Your role will ensure the Boards effectiveness in driving the Red Cross mission forward.
  • Inspiring Strategic and Influential Leadership:As a visionary leader you will inspire and motivate a high-performing team of volunteers and employees through influence to exceed fundraising blood collection and mission delivery goals. Your ability to think strategically and inspire others will shape the future of the Red Cross in our chapter and have a lasting impact within its communities.
  • Creating a Culture of Inclusion and Belonging:You will leverage your influence to foster a culture of collaboration inclusion and belonging ensuring employees and volunteers feel empowered to work as a cohesive mission-driven team for impact and community outcomes.
  • Visionary Chapter Planning:Youll spearhead the chapters annual planning process identifying key areas where we can make the greatest impact in the community. Your vision will directly shape the outcomes we deliver in partnership with the communities we serve.
  • Key Regional Leadership Role:As a member of the Northwest Regional Leadership Team you will work closely with the Regional CEO playing an integral role in shaping the direction and success of the American Red Cross in the region. Although this position doesnt include direct reports you will hold a pivotal role on the regional leadership team.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications):

Education: Bachelors degree required.

Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

Management Experience: NA

Skills & Abilities: Ability to work on a team.

Travel: May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction state and Red Cross system.

*Combination of candidates education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to descriptions minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

Physical Requirements

Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer applicable software and office equipment for sustained periods of time. May include sitting for long periods driving a vehicle and working under challenging conditions.
