Job Description
In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
As part of a multidisciplinary health care team the Community Health Worker 1 provides various housekeeping duties meal planning and preparation and the promotion of a safe and healthy working environment.
Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle; and Valid BC Drivers License.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
- Grade 12
- Class V BC Drivers License
- FoodSafe
- Recent related experience of three months
- Or an equivalent combination of education training and experience
- Or other Qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work
Skills And Abilities
- Home management skills
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
- Ability to operate related equipment and technology (iPhones computers)
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to organize and prioritize
- Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients
