Job Description

Position Title: Project Manager
Department: StFX Centre for Aging and Disability Justice
Position Type: Full-time 9-Month Term with possibility of renewal within a 5-Year project
Classification: MPE Band D
Salary Range: $54795 - $66943 (37.5 hours/week)

The Centre for Aging and Disability Justice is a hub for research and public engagement on aging and disability justice. The Centre supports interdisciplinary community-partnered and first voice-led research that addresses critical policy issues with a focus on rural communities.

We invite applications for the following position: Project Manager Collective Impact Initiative (CII). This initiative is building a rural community network to create sustain and promote age-friendly futures in Northeastern Nova Scotia.

Reporting to Co-Directors Dr. Katie Aubrecht and Dr. Megan MacGillivray on tasks related to our 5-year grant-funded project the project manager will be responsible for coordinating a rural ageing well collective impact initiative. Project activities include data collection analysis and presentation coordinating and liaising with internal and external university and community partners and project evaluation and reporting. This position is in-person with office space in Mulroney Hall StFX campus. Evening and weekend hours will be rare but may occasionally be required to support or participate in project-related events.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administrative support for project management including coordinating team meetings taking notes and tracking action items and their completion
  • Partnership building and collaboration with community organizations service providers municipalities advocacy groups and academics
  • Conduct environmental scans asset and service mapping
  • Quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis
  • Program evaluation activities and quarterly reporting
  • Coordinate community engagements consultations and events
  • Support the development of CII-related research protocols and funding proposals
  • Prepare and submit research ethics review board applications
  • Support knowledge mobilization efforts (e.g. creating and/or contributing to infographics summary reports project newsletters policy briefs blogs website content) and assist in preparing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals
  • Prepare and deliver communication materials and activities tailored to diverse audiences

Qualifications and Skills

  • A bachelors degree is required with a masters degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in a project management role ideally in the areas of community development public health aging or disability services or evaluative research
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team as well as independently
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Experience conducting program evaluations
  • Experience using community-based and participatory action research methodologies
  • Skilled in the design and delivery of presentations workshops and information sessions
  • Experienced user of MS Office Suite (Word PowerPoint Excel Outlook Teams)
  • Background knowledge of social determinants of health is an asset
  • Commitment to equity social justice and reconciliation
