Job Description

Job Title: Complex Assistant Director of Housekeeping
Location: EnVue Autograph Collection Hotel & Residence Inn Weehawken NJ
Reports To: Complex Director of Housekeeping / Complex General Manager
Job Type: Full-Time On-Site

Position Summary:

The Complex Assistant Director of Housekeeping is a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Housekeeping department across two distinct brands: the upscale lifestyle EnVue Autograph Collection and the extended-stay Residence Inn in Weehawken NJ. This role supports the Complex Director of Housekeeping in driving service excellence labor efficiency team engagement and brand standards compliance while managing guest satisfaction and cleanliness across the entire property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping department for both properties including guestrooms public areas laundry and back-of-house.

  • Supervise and train housekeeping staff to ensure high performance adherence to SOPs and compliance with Marriott brand standards.

  • Conduct daily inspections of guestrooms and public areas ensuring cleanliness and maintenance standards are met or exceeded.

  • Coordinate with Engineering and Front Office to resolve guest issues promptly and effectively.

  • Monitor labor costs manage schedules and ensure departmental productivity aligns with budgeted goals.

  • Ensure all health safety and sanitation protocols are followed in accordance with state and local regulations.

  • Support the onboarding and continuous development of housekeeping team members through coaching and performance management.

  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and linens; manage orders in coordination with vendors and the Director of Housekeeping.

  • Handle guest complaints professionally providing swift solutions to ensure guest satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Foster a culture of respect teamwork and accountability within a diverse team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive housekeeping supervisory or management experience in a full-service or extended-stay hotel setting; dual property or union environment experience is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations inventory control and labor management.

  • Familiarity with Marriott brand standards especially Autograph Collection and Residence Inn preferred.

  • Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

  • Proficiency with hotel property management systems (e.g. Marriotts GXP HotSOS etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
