Catholic Charities of Washtenaw County (CCWC) is seeking a President to fulfill its mission motivated by faith to serve the poor and vulnerable in our community. CCWCs mission is: To share the love and presence of Christ in our community through acts of compassion and mercy in a manner that respects the inherent dignity of every person. The person that fills this role will be a practicing Roman Catholic. The President is responsible for leading the organization in a sustainable manner by empowering program leadership with the funding and administrative structure to continually evaluate and improve the effectiveness and alignment of programs with Catholic Social Teaching. The new President will demonstrate visible and hands-on style with proficiencies in fiscal operational and human resource matters.
The President will engage with the Board of Directors and the CCWC executive leadership team to refine and implement a focused strategy that responds to the needs of those we serve. In collaboration with the Diocese of Lansing and the local parishes the President will provide overall executive leadership and direction for CCWC ensuring that Catholic values are demonstrated in all aspects of the organization. The President has several direct reports and overall oversight of approximately 60 employees. The incoming President must have a deep commitment to recruiting supporting and retaining staff members who bring to life the mission of CCWC.
The President reports directly to the CCWC Board of Directors. Bishop Earl Boyea of the Diocese of Lansing provides overall guidance to the organization. This position leads and oversees all aspects of organizational operations to ensure achievement of strategic financial development and programmatic objectives in accordance with the organization mission and strategic plan. As the leader of the organization the President provides clear direction and vision builds collaborative community relationships and effectively engages donors staff and other agency stakeholders to increase and maintain organization viability and visibility within the community in alignment with the organizations strategic plan and identified organizational priorities.
This position requires a Bachelors degree in Business Healthcare or related field. Preference for advanced degree in Business or Social Work. Candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic. Certificate or Licensure in field of expertise if applicable. Experience includes but is not limited to: - At least five years of advanced management experience preferably in a non-profit and/or health care environment; experience in an executive leadership role preferred.
- Proven understanding of and experience with organizational budgeting complex funding structures and requirements and human resource oversight.
- Proven understanding of and experience with change management and the execution of successful reorganization initiatives.
- Proven experience facilitating and participating in community collaborations.
- Experience with marginalized communities and care for underserved people.
- Understanding of and respect for the Catholic Church and ability to effectively communicate principles of Catholic Social Teaching.
