Reporting to the HR Technician I and/or Administrative Officer III this position provides administrative assistance & office management in the Human Resources section of a medium custody male correctional facility. This positions responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


  1. Maintaining applicant rosters through the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and scheduling interviews.
  2. Preparing interview and hiring packages
  3. Maintaining employee database and entering employee timesheets
  4. Maintaining employee personnel files employee benefits and new hire orientations.
  5. Engaging in a great deal of contact with staff the general public and other State agencies.
  6. Tracking a number of different issues using spreadsheets/databases and exercising good reasoning and analytical skills.
  7. Composing documents and correspondences from rough drafts and independents composition.
  8. Handling sensitive and confidential information
  9. Completing special projects and providing assistance to other staff in the facility as needed.
  10. Using regularly the Department of Adult Correction Institutions internet page/resources email telephone and Microsoft Office Programs.


As of January 1 2025 there are new increase adjustments to the state pay plan which were approved by the State Human Resources Commission effective January 1 2025. The new salary range will be $31200 - $49340.



About Warren Correctional Institution:
Warren Correctional Institution is a medium custody facility located in Manson NC which houses approximately 725 male offenders. The facility provides offender labor to one Correction Enterprises operation located off site: The Janitorial Product Plant manufactures a variety of cleaning products soap and plastic bags that are sold to various agencies/companies.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies



  1. Documented working knowledge of word processing or spreadsheet programs.

Management Preference:

  1. Documented knowledge of human resource/personnel functions such as Onboarding and/or Recruiting.

TheNorth Carolina Department of Adult Correction (DAC) is one of the largest state agencies with more than 19000 employees. The Division of Institutionsis one of the divisions in DAC andemploys a variety of staff operates 56 institutions and is responsible for the care and custody of approximately 30000 incarcerated individuals across North Carolina. Our division categorizes the institutions into 3 custody levels which include minimum medium and close. The Division of Institutions has a duty to provide a secure and safe environment along with the proper care and supervision for every individual in our custody.
