Partner Staffing on behalf of our Client we are seeking a talented Mechanical Designer with experience in hospitals and healthcare facilities to join a growing Calgary office. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful healthcare projects across Alberta and beyond working closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers.
You will play a key role in developing mechanical system designs including HVAC plumbing fire protection and building automation from early schematic phases through to detailed construction documentation. We re looking for someone with technical skill creative problem-solving ability and a desire to grow their career in the healthcare sector.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanical designs for healthcare buildings including HVAC plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Prepare system calculations equipment sizing and technical documentation.
- Create detailed construction drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Coordinate with internal team members and external consultants (architects structural electrical).
- Participate in site reviews and support construction administration.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes regulations and Quality Management System.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong working knowledge of Revit AutoCAD HAP IESve and Microsoft Office.
- Effective communicator capable of preparing clear written reports and presenting ideas.
- Self-motivated detail-oriented and able to manage tasks independently and as part of a team.
- Up-to-date understanding of current building codes ASHRAE standards and healthcare-specific guidelines (CSA Z317 series where applicable).
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Systems Technology.
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience including involvement in healthcare projects.
- . or Professional Technologist (.) designation preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience in other sectors (education institutional mixed-use) considered an asset.
