To provide high level facility administration ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the Valley Park Community Centre is undertaken and delivered. The position will also be required to provide support for other community facilities within the locality as required.

What youll be doing:

  • Ensure effective and efficient day-to-day administration of the Valley Park Community Centre as per the Operational Manual and associated procedures.
  • Ensure the facility is maintained and well presented to a high standard and any maintenance and cleaning issues are dealt with promptly through liaison with the appropriate department.
  • Administer the centres booking system including point of contact enquiries and administration of accounting processes.
  • Compile reports and prepare external correspondence as delegated by the Community Centre Leader.
  • Utilise databases to support data collection of facility users and the creation of reports. Work in collaboration with the Community Centre Leader to ensure the facility is an accessible inclusive and well activated space.
  • Manage customer service requests complaints general enquiries and transactions.
  • Help promote and support the participation of a wide range of community and centre tenants in the facility and Council programs through collaborative approaches.
  • Work in collaboration with facility tenants user groups and hirers to ensure WHS requirements risk management security and the emergency evacuation procedures and processors are undertaken and maintained.

The skills and experience youll bring to the role:

  • Demonstrated high level administrative/reception and customer service skills.
  • Highly developed computer skills including use of the MS Office suite (Word Excel and PowerPoint) as well as email and internet applications.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage facility booking systems and associated processes e.g. Bookable or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience understanding and commitment to community development practice and principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in written form to a broad range of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures with an ability to write reports and to prepare external correspondence.
  • Expertise in using Microsoft Office software (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook) and various Council software applications including Finance One Open Cities Indesign and TRIM.

Required Certifications & Qualifications: 

  • Relevant qualification and/or considerable administration/reception and customer service experience in the community sector.
  • Current drivers licence.
