Maintenance Apprentice

The Maintenance Apprenticeship program is designed to prepare highly talented self-motivated individuals for a future maintenance career with Continental. The two year apprenticeship offers Continental employees with the opportunity to earn an Associates Degree in Advanced Manufacturing along with the opportunity to experience hands-on maintenance experience and professional development.

This program offers an opportunity to work in an environment that allows learning in a real-world environment through applying education while on-the-job including technical skills such as electricity robotics fluid power mechanics Programmable Logic Controller (PLCs) and industrial troubleshooting. This program also includes manufacturing core exercises such as safety culture visual workplace organization lean manufacturing problem solving and machine reliability. This role prepares a Maintenance Apprentice for a full-time Maintenance Technician position at Continental New Braunfels TX based upon business need. 

Qualifications :

Basic Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Enrollment in an Associates Degree program in the area of Advanced Manufacturing
Interest in a future career in the field of Maintenance at Continental New Braunfels TX
Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in Advanced Manufacturing Associates Degree program
Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week in addition to being enrolled as a full-time college student pursuing a degree in the area of Advanced Manufacturing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Basic computer skills in Microsoft Applications (Word Excel PowerPoint Teams Email)
Ability to read write and speak English

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift push pull or carry up to 40 lbs. unassisted 
• Ability to climb ladders
• Excellent hand/eye/foot coordination 
• Ability to stand walk stoop kneel crouch or reach for 10 hours per day
• Ability to bend at waist and perform repetitive foot and hand action for 10 hours per day
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Ability to work on a manufacturing shopfloor environment
• Must wear company-provided ESD safety-toed shoes smock and other PPE in required areas

Preferred Requirements:
Experience working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
Ability to understand mechanics and troubleshooting
Ability to read and interpret blueprints & electrical schematics in equipment manuals
Ability to read and interpret electronic and pneumatic schematics

Full Time (M/W/F) 7:00am-7:00pm

*Classes starting August 25 2025
