Job Description

Overview

BGS is hiring for a Custodian I position with the Department of Buildings and General Services (BGS) averaging 816 hours per week.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Sweeping mopping and vacuuming floors
  • Cleaning and dusting offices furniture and equipment
  • Restroom cleaning and restocking supplies
  • Loading unloading and moving surplus supplies furniture and equipment to maximize space on the sales floor and in storage areas
  • Testing electronic items and documenting their condition
  • Preparing metal and electronics for recycling
  • May assist with groundskeeping and snow removal
  • May be responsible for securing the building

Additional related duties may be assigned as needed. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and contributing to the care and function of public facilities.

This position Part-Time Custodian I (Job Requisition #52788) is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.
