Seeking a Part Time Office Assistant on our Sayre Corps Team

SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The office assistant will provide support with the general operation of the office and the material assistance ministry. This includes all components of social services including food pantry holiday assistance and financial assistance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Implement a Christian philosophy in all work including the encouragement to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a viable long-term solution for the spiritual social and physical needs of our clients.
2. Provide a consistent professional presence in the reception area by greeting guests warmly in person and by telephone.
3. Maintain a tidy front office and waiting area.
4. Distribute phone messages as appropriate.
5. Keep an inventory of office supplies and restock as needed.
6. Collect statistical information from program leaders and enter into THQ system.
7. Process employee payroll to Divisional Headquarters.
8. Process Camp Long Point camper paperwork.
9. Assist with the kettle effort by scheduling volunteers and providing other support as needed.
10. Assist with donation pickups as requested.
11. Process all applications for financial assistance.
12. Assure that all client case files are complete and organized. This includes food pantry applications with the assistance of current volunteers financial assistance and Christmas assistance applications
13. Responsible for the organization and completion of Christmas assistance applications.
14. Drive van to pick up donations should volunteer driver be unavailable.
15. Office areas tidy; garbage removed; vacuumed regularly
16. Check mailbox outdoors once a day.
17. The office assistant is responsible for proper documentation and submission for EFSP reimbursement attending EFSP meetings entering monthly statistics into Turbo States and documentation of United Way funding/assisting with annual application for United Way.
SPECIAL SKILLS CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:
An understanding of and passion for The Salvation Armys mission and ministry
Associates degree or minimum 1 year related experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to maintain strict confidentiality
Strong organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel
Able to work well with individuals with varying needs
Have ability to handle difficult situations in a professional manner
Valid PA Drivers License required and the ability to obtain and maintain driving privileges per Salvation Army standards
