The Opportunity:
The Sr. Director role in the Visa Cloud Platform team entails leading multiple development teams to enhance the automation of Day 0 Day 1 and Day 2 activities in the lifecycle of applications deployed on the private cloud platform. The teams are comprised of full stack developers tech leads and Directors who manage teams themselves. A successful candidate for this position will be able to have a positive impact on the experience of other product development teams within Visa.
The Work itself:
The work involves leading teams adhering to Visas leadership principles of leading courageously obsessing about our customers collaborating with other teams and excelling in execution.
The Visa Cloud Platform comprises of 100s of micro-services and micro-front end components designed to work together as a cohesive platform to enable our customers to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of their applications from ideation to decommissioning of services. The primary language used in the backend is Java with Spring framework as the base framework. The front end is mostly built using Typescript and AngularJS. Other significant software / frameworks leveraged are Activiti Quartz MongoDB and MySQL.
This role is expected to collaborate closely with other partners in Operations and Infrastructure like Compute Storage Network Middleware and Database Engineering teams. There will be significant integration with our CyberSecurity services requiring close partnership with them.
Essential Functions
The Skills You Bring:
Lead multiple development teams to manage and enhance Visas Private Cloud Platform.
Bring in strong technical expertise to drive the architecture and high-level design of different services.
Lead technical discussions and communicate regularly with senior leadership on technical issues program status and escalations.
Define and advocate a set of standard technologies and architectural patterns for solving complex technical problems specifically in the cloud computing domain.
Champion SSDLC processes to deliver quality software on time.
Act as a technical liaison between product engineering teams Cybersecurity and Operations.
Work closely with cross-functional groups including internal stakeholders (Product Managers Engineers Architects etc.) and external customers and vendors to formalize roadmaps & priorities.
Lead by example demonstrating accountability and by contributing to departmental procedures best practices and standards.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications
12 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree OR 15 years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
15 or more years of experience with a Bachelors Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD or MD) PhD with 9 years of experience
5 years of experience in leading other development teams or team of teams.
5 years of experience in systems architecture engineering or development including experience in cloud automation frameworks Hybrid cloud infrastructure deployments and solutions for large enterprises.
Well versed with well-architected frameworks driving Operation excellence Security Reliability Performance efficiency Cost Optimization
Understanding and experience with Virtualization and Containerization technologies and cloud-native Application Architecture
Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills with the ability to work in a global environment and drive consensus in cross-functional teams.
Proven record of defining technology roadmap executing defined technology strategies and driving adoption across a large enterprise
Good understanding of Agile processes specifically Scrum.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk communicate in person and by telephone frequently operate standard office equipment such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 191700.00 to 299650.00 USD per year which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge skills experience and location. In addition this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
