Assistant Mens Basketball Coach:
Assists the Head Mens Basketball Coach with the coaching and student-athlete instruction of all participants in the basketball program.
This is a 10-month position.

Responsibilities:
55% Provide assistance to the Head Coach with activities and essential daily work associated with the program and student athletics including but not limited to recruitment game preparation on-the-floor coaching video work scouting study hall NJCAA compliance paperwork and community involvement.
25% Recruits potential student athletes.
15% Monitors athletes behavior in dormitory. Assists student athletes with skill development monitors academic progress and social skills.
5% Performs other duties as assigned.

5. Functions as a team member in the Department of Athletics and Kinesiology in the development and implementation of processes to accomplish the goals and philosophy of the division and the college.
6. Resides in residence hall and enforces student policies. Serves as a positive role model for students and enforces all college policies.
7. Represents Grayson College in a positive manner in the community and actively promotes Grayson College programs.

Qualifications:
A Bachelors degree is required.
A Masters degree is preferred.
Successful experience coaching/playing at the collegiate level or higher is required.
Successful experience as an assistant coach at the collegiate level is preferred.
Must have knowledge of the game skill level to teach the game and comprehension of evaluating talent.
Must have the drive to recruit and develop players.
Strong computer skills are required.
Must have the ability to respond to emergency situation in a timely manner.
The position requires moderate physical exertion such as long periods of standing repetitively lifting lightweight objects with frequent bending and stooping.
Job may require periodic lifting of heavy objects over 50 pounds.
May be exposed to bodily fluids.
Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature.
Work involves motivating or influencing others.
