Job Description

Description of Work



We are looking for candidates who have a passion for helping at-risk youth.
We areWorking Together to Strengthen North Carolinas Youth and Families!

This position is assigned to District 26 and will provide services to our Court Services offices in Mecklenburg County North Carolina.


This position will assist with the administrative functions of the office by managing appointments/schedules and providing clerical support to Juvenile Court Counselor Supervisors and the Chief Court Counselor.


This position requires:

  • Interactions with the public in both office and telephonic settings to direct them to the appropriate individuals/resources.
  • Data entry and reporting from NCJOIN and other electronicsources.
  • Maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment ordering supplies maintaining equipment and typing letters and reports sorting and delivering officemail.
  • Providing assistance to staff; service recipients and other organizational units and the public in resolving problems orinquiries.
  • A significant knowledge of the office or work units policies and procedures in order to communicate or process information or documents involving program functions and services to assess office systems for information and prepare documents and reports.
This position requires the ability to:
  • Ability to learn and independently apply departmental rules and regulations.
  • Ability to learn office process and procedures and apply this knowledge in problem-solving and responding to questions and inquiries.
  • Ability to use judgment in coordinating and monitoring office procedures and workflow.

**The successful applicant must possess a valid North Carolina drivers license.
**Must be able to obtain commission as a Notary Public.


Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position. Work hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

To qualify for this position applicants must demonstrate ALL of the following KSAs:


  • Experience using MS Office applications (Word Excel Access Powerpoint).
  • Experience recording compiling summarizing and/or performing basic analysis of narrative/numerical materials.
  • Experience with public/office contacts and/or communications that may be sensitive in nature.
  • Experience scheduling and coordinating a variety of appointments meetings or conferences.
Management Preferences:These skills are not required but managers may choose to interview/select applicants who demonstrate Management Preferences.

  • At least two years of office assistance/secretarial experience and /or Associate degree or higher with an emphasis on office technology/business management.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
