Job Description
Avesta Housing is seeking a Director of Independent Living to work at our assisted living residence 75 State Street. This position will oversee and lead the Independent Living team to ensure maximum efficiency competence and resident satisfaction. This position serves as the lead resource for the department coordinating resident custodial care services conducting assessments and ensuring that service packages meet the needs of residents and will also oversee resident programs for the entire community including the activities department and salon services.

What Were Looking For
The person who is ready for this opportunity will meet the following requirements:
- Excellent judgment
- Caring attitude
- Detail oriented
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to relate effectively to individuals with diverse backgrounds abilities preferences and needs
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work independently and as part of a team
- Licensed Nurse Social Worker or Health care professional with experience in healthcare settings preferably with older adults/senior living
- Minimum of two years management experience preferably in a senior living care setting with proven experience in recruiting and managing high-quality employees
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with technology including MS Office
- Ability to manage difficult family and resident situations
- Comprehensive understanding of residents rights
- Considerable initiative judgment and leadership skills are required
- Ability to work occasionally outside of traditional business hours including weekends

This is an exempt full-time position with an annual salary range of $60000 - $75000.
