About the role
The Rigging Technical Directors primary responsibility in Framestores Pre-Production Service division is to design build and maintain highly versatile and efficient character rigging systems and animation interfaces.
What youll do
Design build and refine a vast variety of rigs across a wide range of projects through the animation pipeline.
Develops tools to optimize animation and rigging workflows and maintain the documentation accordingly.
Works closely with Supervisors and Previs Artists to ensure the rigs meet show requests and needs while assuring full compatibility with the Film division.
Comply with pipeline and rigging company standards participating in the design and development of the rigging and animation toolset.
Will be required to work across Previs Postvis Real-Time and Virtual Production.
Job requirements
Requirements
Maya rigging (full body/facial).
Experience with full scripted modular or functional rigging.
Experience with real time engines (Unreal engine or similar)
Python GUI scripting and the ability to follow strict coding standards.
The ability to write technical documentation and present your work (wiki screen cap etc.).
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Teamwork communication and time management skills.
Understanding of best practices to deliver optimised performance.
A passion for creating believable CG characters and the requisite attention to detail.
Analytical and artistic skills creativity and visual problem solving.
You might also have
Experience with body or facial motion capture systems: rig hookups offset rigs re-targeting etc.
Familiarity with bug tracking software ( Jira Redmine etc) and agile methodologies.
