Responsibilities include reviewing documentation for completion and accuracy to ensure proper assignment of ICD.10 CPT and HCPCS codes and modifiers and adheres to coding principles. Meets defined accuracy and productivity measurements. Communications through the appropriate defined channel when education and/or feedback is required. If there is a discrepancy between the coder/auditor the escalation policy is to be followed. Responsible for ensuring accurate timely and complete coding of all professional services.
Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines to be accurate and to handle constantly changing situations. Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people deal with stressful situations and handle conflict.
Will perform all job duties or job tasks as assigned. Will follow and adhere to all requirements regulations and procedures of any licensing board or agency. Must comply with all Benefis Health system organization policies and procedures.
Education/License/Experience Requirements:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Graduate of accredited coding program
- Two (2) or more years of previous experience as a coder preferred
