The Office of Admissions is hiring Transfer Admissions Counselor! This position is the primary point of contact for students the public and internal stakeholders to establish positive college relationships. The Office of Admissions is a fast-paced office that welcomes a wide variety of students staff faculty and their families to the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Our office is dynamic fun and collaborative. The Transfer Admissions Counselor is a core part of our team and and counsels prospective and recently admitted students on the transfer process and opportunities at the University The responsibilities of this position include customer service administrative support and application processing. This position is a full time in office positionand will require occasional travel outside of the state.
Strong organizational and public speaking skills. Ability to talk knowledgeably about UAF and answer questions involving individual programs financial aid student services residence life advising etc. Demonstrated leadership decision making writing and editing skills. Ability to coordinate/schedule large and small events. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and lead a project to completion. Must be able to think creatively maintain confidentiality and work independently as well as in a team environment. Strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills are necessary including public speaking skills and the ability to present the University in a positive way to diverse populations. Ability to travel is required. Ability to represent the admissions profession positively through a strong student-centered ethic. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Basic familiarity with word processing spreadsheet and database software tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required and two years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Valid drivers license.
Position Details:
This is a full-time exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary andfull employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options annual leave 12 paid holidays per year tuition waivers for employees and family members and affordable medical dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on theUA Staff Salary Schedule Grade 78 based on education and experience.
