Job Description
Shipping Lead
Location: Lake in the Hills IL
Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
Compensation: $19.00 - $23.00 /hr
AFC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Shipping Team Lead who will be responsible for coordinating daily shipping and distribution operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and supply chain management as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure shipments are processed timely and accurately.
- Train new team members on shipping processes and procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the warehouse team to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipments promptly.
- Suggest improvements to shipping processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
What Youll Bring
- Previous experience as a Shipping Team Lead or similar role in a shipping or logistics environment.
- Previous forklift experience
- Strong communication leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and operate warehouse equipment (forklifts pallet jacks etc.) as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent
