This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays leave or benefits.

Job Description

The Building Brains Part Time Afterschool Program Site Director is responsible for orienting monitoring and leading children through the daily operation of a Gwinnett County afterschool program. The incumbent will be the onsite lead creating safe places for children and youth to receive academic support school readiness enrichment activities and child/youth development.

Essential Duties
  • Orienting monitoring and leading children in various activities
  • Developing and implementing lesson plans
  • Leading children and staff through the day-to-day operation of an after-school program including set-up and clean-up of equipment and supplies.
  • Supervising and leading various activities games and crafts for participants for both indoor and outdoor environments
  • Planning for appropriate learning experiences for students based on the curriculum and providing an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual physical social and environmental development of student.
  • Linking lesson content to students knowledge background experience and/or real-world application of content
  • Monitoring staff work hours as well as completing and submitting time sheets.
  • Ensuring the safety of program participants and facility operations
  • Supervising program staff interaction with parents and paperwork completion
  • Reporting and appropriately dealing with discipline problems accidents and other incidents
Public Speaking Duties
  • Leading and/or facilitating educational programs to the youth and providing clear instructions on the programs

  • This job requires fingerprinting.
Hourly rate
Salary will be $21.00.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associates degree in early childhood education elementary education or a closely related field AND
  • One year experience working with and monitoring school-aged children in an organized camp afterschool daycare or similar setting
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
  • Valid drivers license
  • CPR certification within 90 days of employment
  • First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in early childhood education elementary education or a closely related field
  • Previous supervisory experience working with and monitoring school-aged children in an organized camp afterschool daycare or similar setting
  • CPR certification
  • First Aid Certification
