Job Description
We are currently looking for an L2/L3 Network Engineer to be based in Barcelona.
The selected candidate will play an active role as a network security resource and individual contributor. They will closely collaborate with internal staff and the clients technical teams to support the implemented network design as well as the associated hardware and technology. The candidate will be responsible for implementing the low-level designs (LLD) provided by the Network Architecture team and will follow and support knowledge bases related to troubleshooting both simple and complex network issues. Additionally they will conduct capacity upgrades for the client-supported network infrastructure maintain technical documentation and procedures and establish and recommend policies and standards regarding network configuration and services.
Responsibilities:
- Play an active role as a network security resource and individual contributor;
- Collaborate with internal staff and the clients technical teams to support implemented network design hardware and technology;
- Implement LLD designed by the Network Architecture team;
- Follow and support KBs regarding troubleshooting simple and complex network issues;
- Implement capacity upgrades for client-supported network infrastructure;
- Maintain technical documentation and procedures; establish and recommend policies and standards on network configuration and services.
Professional skills and required qualifications:
- 3 years hands-on experience with deployment and maintenance of enterprise networks;
- 3 years hands-on experience with Enterprise Firewalls managing and implementing Network Security frameworks;
- Good understanding of Network Firewalls VPN Technologies NAC Technologies WAF Technologies;
- Good understandingwithL2/L3 network technologies R&S and Security Technologies;
- Goodunderstandingcentralized network monitoring and management technologies;
- Proven experience with Aruba switching and FortiGate Firewalls is a plus;
- Experience in troubleshooting network issues in multi-vendor environment;
- Very Good understanding of the OSI Layer model;
- Deploying configurations in accordance with the agreed roll-out plans;
- Working within strict timeframes and deadlines;
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration;
- Good understanding of routing protocols with a preference for BGP OSPF and Static routing;
- Good understanding of network segmentation and firewall engineering;
- CCNA level of understanding network concepts(VLANs IPSEC GRE Firewall rules Radius Site-to-Site VPNsetc.);
- Proven experience and demonstrable success with maintaining and implementing multi-service networks;
- Proven experience with firewalls is preferred (FortiGate Cisco ASA CheckpointJuniper);
- Broad knowledge in overall IT Infrastructure and Telecommunications;
- Bachelors degree or equivalent required;
- Work in an organized manner and pay close attention to detail (ensures quality in work delivered);
- Certifications or equivalent preferred;
- Exposure to ITIL concepts;
- Level of English: High.
