JOB GOAL: To provide each student with the individually designed instruction he/or she requires to progress toward the educational and social-emotional goals established within each individuals education RESPONSIBILITIES:I. Demonstrates a solid understanding of the curriculum. A. Demonstrates a working knowledge of the core curriculum for Special Education in alignment with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks B. .Frames curriculum around key learning standards/concepts in the key content areas that provide opportunities for students with disabilities to demonstrate reasoning logic analysis and synthesis when planning units lessons and assessments. C. Keeps current in the various curricular and special education fields and applies that knowledge to the instructional program. D. Contributes to the ongoing evaluation of the curriculum. E. Ability to modify the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks to meet students instructional levelsII. Conducts effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction A. Effectively plans instruction and assessment for students with disabilities and monitors each students understanding of the curriculum. Adjusts instruction materials or assessments when appropriate.
