Cloud Engineer

Please note: This role is contingent upon contract award. While it is not an immediate opening we are actively conducting interviews and extending offers in anticipation of the award.

The Work We are seeking a skilled and security-focused Cloud Engineer to support mission-critical systems for our federal government client. The ideal candidate will have experience architecting deploying and managing cloud solutions in compliance with government cybersecurity frameworks such as FedRAMP NIST and DoD SRG.

What You Will Do:

• Design and modernize secure scalable cloud infrastructure usingAWS (GovCloud)andMicrosoft Azure in alignment with FDA architectural and security standards

• ImplementIaaS PaaS SaaS andserverlessarchitectures usingInfrastructure as Code (IaC)tools likeTerraformAWS CloudFormation orAzure Resource Manager.

• Develop and managecloud-native applicationsusingcontainersmicroservices andAPIs orchestrated viaKubernetesandRed Hat OpenShift.

• Automate build test deployment and monitoring pipelines using CI/CD tools such asGitLab CIJenkinsAnsible andDocker.

• IntegrateDevSecOps practiceswith security controls applied early in the SDLC following aZero Trust Architecture model andRBACstandards.

• Ensure systems meet compliance requirements underNIST SP 800-53FISMAFedRAMP andFDA cybersecurity and governance policies.

• Monitor and optimize systemperformance availability scalability andcost-efficiencyacross multiple environments (Dev Test Pre-Prod Prod).

• SupportATO (Authority to Operate)processes by producing technical documentation conducting security assessments and collaborating with FDA cybersecurity teams.

• Lead troubleshooting and incident response for performance issues outages and unexpected behavior across modernized and legacy systems.

• Contribute to system modernization planning toolchain development and technical roadmaps for transitioning legacy systems to cloud-native environments.
  

What You Will Bring With You:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline

• 35 years of experience working with cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP).

• 3 years of basic experience with basic networking technologies

• US Citizenship or Green Card required due to federal contract requirements

• Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.

• MUST RESIDE IN THE United States (U.S.) and the work MUST BE PERFORMED in the United States (U.S.)

What We Would Like You To Bring With You:

• Relevant certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Microsoft Azure Administrator CompTIA Security CISSP).

• Masters degree in related field

• Experience working in Agile or DevSecOps environments.

• Experience with building full-stack web-based enterprise systems

• Experience with SQL and database development

• Strong understanding of networking identity & access management and cloud security best practices.

• Familiarity with federal security standards such as FedRAMP FISMA and NIST SP 800-53.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position including but not limited to relevant work experience skills certifications and competencies that align to the specified role geographic location education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
