Primary Purpose
Responsible for physical appearance of University grounds by mowing raking planting fertilizing trimming or watering. Uses mowers rakes or other hand and power tools typically used in gardening.
Essential Functions
Mows trims edges and sweeps university lawns and grounds. Waters fields and grounds as directed. Performs tree and shrub maintenance to include planting trimming and fertilizing. Ensures proper care of equipment tools and supplies. Collects trash and removes in appropriate containers. Performs minor repair of equipment. Assists with set-up and tear-down of outdoor stages tarps tables and chairs. Identifies maintenance or repair need and reports to appropriate personnel. Assists in special construction projects as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of maintenance and operation of grounds equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma. Working knowledge of lawn maintenance and of lawn maintenance equipment use and repair. Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice equity and inclusion in a university setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
