Job Description
Vineyard Crew Lead
As a Vineyard Crew Lead you will be responsible for executing day-to-day vineyard tasks while supporting and overseeing a small team of labourers. You will play a vital role in ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed tasks are completed efficiently and safely and that communication flows seamlessly between your crew and the Crew Foreman.
Accountabilities & Impact:
- Operate vineyard machinery including tractors and mowers to support seasonal activities.
- Carry out vineyard maintenance tasks including pruning shoot and bunch thinning hand harvesting trimming and de-leafing.
- Participate in planting new vines and general vineyard establishment work.
- Support the execution of pesticide and herbicide spraying following safety procedures and SOPs.
- Work outdoors in diverse environmental conditions including heat cold dust and dampness.
- Act as the first point of communication for the labourers in your crew.
- Ensure safe work practices and compliance with established SOPs.
- Monitor work progress and quality providing feedback to the Crew Foreman.
- Foster a team-oriented and respectful work environment.
Skills & Experiences Needed:
- Previous experience in vineyard or agricultural operations
- Valid Drivers License required
- Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather conditions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and guide small teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow and enforce SOPs.
- Flexible reliable and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons.
- Bilingual with fluent Spanish is required.
