Job Description

We are looking for a talented passionate and people-focused Health and Safety Manager to support our Corporate teams in delivering a best-in-class safety service and culture as well as managing and maintaining our health and safety systems and delivering high quality and engaging health and safety training awareness and promotions. Our diverse portfolio includes over 50000 homes stretching from Hereford in the west to Lincolnshire in the east of the Midlands as well as a range of housing schemes and new build developments.

What youll be doing:

In this exciting new role youll report to the Head of Occupational Health and Safety and provide a high-quality health and safety service to our Corporate Teams. You will also work closely with our Learning and Development team and Corporate Communications team to deliver engaging and impactful health & safety briefings and training in coordination with the wider health and safety team. Youll be part of a high-profile high-performing Health and Safety team working alongside managers team leaders contractors and colleagues to deliver the highest standards of health and safety and promote safe working practices and environments.

Youll lead on health and safety engagement by developing delivering and monitoring high quality health and safety training communications and promotional activities. Supporting the delivery of safety excellence across our teams youll drive the implementation of our health and safety management system digital platform overseeing risk assessments safe systems of work training inspections incident prevention and investigations and fostering a strong positive safety culture. You will also keep abreast of health and safety developments technology and best practice especially in areas such as DSE office and workplace safety agile working lone working and personal safety.

Some things we need from you:

  • NEBOSH General in Occupational Health and Safety.

  • Membership of IOSH (TechIOSH or CertIOSH)

  • Demonstrable experience of supporting diverse health and safety activities and risks.

  • Experience in developing and delivering high quality health and safety training

  • Experience of undertaking health and safety investigations making recommendations for improvements

  • Experience of delivering health and safety solutions within social housing or healthcare environment is considered desirable

  • Good IT skills with practical knowledge and experience of managing and maintaining databases and digital platforms

  • Comfortable presenting training and promotions to a varied audience

  • Experience of lone working and personal safety risks and solutions.

  • Experience of positively changing culture through coaching and mentoring at all levels within an organisation along with a focus on continuous improvement to maintain a positive H&S culture

  • Experience of supporting and maintaining externally audited management standards such as ISO45001 and ISO14001is considered desirable

While this role is home-based youll regularly travel to Group offices and other locations to conduct inspections site checks and toolbox talks as needed.
