About the Role:
A well-established firm is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support its Accounting and Payroll team at the San Jose office. This individual will be responsible for a range of daily functions including payroll processing data entry for accounts payable and receivable inventory tracking and maintaining employee records. The role also includes creating hiring packets and managing weekly filing. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment and demonstrates strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Support daily operations of the accounting and payroll departments
Enter and maintain records related to accounts payable accounts receivable and inventory
Process payroll and manage related documentation
Maintain and organize employee files hiring packets and weekly filing systems
Perform general administrative and data entry tasks as needed
Qualifications:
23 years of professional experience in a corporate accounting department (construction industry experience preferred)
Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
Familiarity with general accounting principles
Experience using accounting and payroll systems; Sage software experience is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel Word and Outlook
Highly organized detail-oriented and self-motivated
Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Strong verbal and written communication skills with problem-solving aptitude
