Job Description

Respiratory Therapist/NICU Permanent Role
  • Location: Temple TX 76502
  • Shift: 12 HR Nights 07:00 PM 07:00 AM
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
  • Compensation: Based on experience
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Perform and direct respiratory care services including oxygen and aerosol therapy.
  • Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation during emergencies.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to plan and implement patient care.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies including those related to infection control HIPAA and safety.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with peers patients and families.
  • Maintain and improve clinical and technical skills through ongoing development.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance patient care and clinical processes.
  • Document care accurately in electronic medical records.
Key Success Factors:
  • Proficient in respiratory care modalities therapies and equipment.
  • Ability to follow protocols and flowcharts.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Competent in electronic documentation and basic computer operations (data entry scanning secure email).
Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent (or 2 years of related work experience above minimum qualifications).

Experience:

  • Less than 1 year of direct Respiratory Therapist experience required (new grads welcome).

Certifications/Licenses:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)-Must be obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer.
  • RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner)-Licensed in the State of Texas.
  • RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
