Job Description
Global Engineering Services (GES) NA Ops Engineering is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented engineering project leader to lead initiative of developing and delivering next generation world-class sortation and transportation systems. This position will have an impact on Concept Design and Firm Engineering processes through its work in the Technical Vendor Management (TVM) pillar.

Were looking to add a handful of high-impact engineers to our team. In this role you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high-quality cost-effective solutions for our sortation and distribution systems. Your projects may include green-fields brown-fields and retrofits including highly automated fulfillment centers cross-dock facilities and transportation centers.
You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year. You will be challenged; you will learn; you will work on high impact high visibility projects; you will grow.
This role requires up to 25% travel and availability to work from a corporate office when not traveling. Candidates should either live near or be willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the office. Relocation assistance may be provided.
Key job responsibilities
Coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the sortation and transportation network through equipment specification material flow process design site layout and intellectual property considerations.
Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing negotiating and communicating with internal and external business partners contractors and vendors.
Effective communication skills ability to execute the vision detailed roadmap and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives.
Ability to travel 25% globally to interact with internal and external business and technical leaders.

About the team
The Technical Vendor Management Team will serve as a strategic voice from GES to the vendor managing MHE vendor performance and resolving systemic issues.
The team is open to hiring candidates from the following locations: Bay Area CA; Dallas TX; Houston TX; Austin TX; Los Angeles Metro Area; Phoenix Metro Area; Arlington VA; Bellevue WA; Seattle WA; Boston Metro Area; Nashville TN; New York City; Atlanta Metro Area; Chicago IL
Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Operations or a related field and at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the specialty.
Fulfillment/Distribution Center/Sort Center Hub experience
Ability to work within an ambiguous environment and manage change
Experience using business/technical software like MS Excel MS Project and CAD software
Experience in technical leadership for large-scale industrial projects.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication organization time management and problem-solving skills
Proven track record of owning projects from start to finish self-starter and self-directed
Proactive and flexible attitude; willingness to take an all hands-on deck approach
Masters Degree or other advanced degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Process Engineering or related field 3 years relevant experiences
Proficiency using AutoCAD
Proficiency in Smartsheet BIM360 and other Autodesk related software
Ability to work independently in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
Ability to manage influence negotiate and communicate with external business partners and internal teams to meet organizational needs.

The base pay for this position ranges from $118900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205600/year in our highest geographic market.
