Job Description

SALARY: $54000-$56000 annually

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assists in the coordination of the financial operations for the Citys Treasury Division. Under the direction of the City Controller and the Director of Treasury ensures consistency and effectiveness of treasury operations including processing of cash receipts and accounts payable transactions within the Citys Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system processing of ACH payments and wire payments assisting in the bank reconciliation completion maintaining documentation on bank transactions or other tasks as assigned. Assist the Director of Treasury the AP Supervisor or any City AP Clerk with routine invoice processing and entry into ERP system for any department across the City.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs assigned duties related to financial operations for the Treasury Division in accordance with established City policy and procedures including but not limited to:
    • Cash receipt review
    • The processing of ACH payments and wire payments
    • Bank reconciliation completion and documentation
    • Monthly close journal entries
  • Assists the AP Supervisor or any City AP Clerk with routine invoice processing and entry into Financial ERP system for any department across the City.
  • Assists the City Controller with the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) including gathering and supplying supporting documentation for the Citys annual audit.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as requested by the City Controller or Director of Treasury

NON-ESSENTIAL/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as apparent or as assigned.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting Business Administration Economics Finance or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in managing fiscal operations preferred.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of accounting and/or financial operations.
  • Ability to communicate with supervisors peers or subordinates providing information by telephone in written form e-mail or in person.
  • Ability to organize plan and prioritize work developing specific goals and plans to accomplish work.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Products particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of City or County government preferred but not required.

CERTIFICATES LICENSE REGISTRATION:

Valid Drivers license required if driving City vehicle.

EQUIPMENT:

Computer copier telephone automobile cell phone.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is performed mostly in an office setting. Some outdoor work is required in the inspection of various projects and construction sites. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand or sit; walk; use hands to finger handle feel or operate objects tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed primarily in an office setting with moderate inside temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office. Entire office is smoke free.
