    QUALIFICATIONS
    1. High School Diploma or equivalent
    2. An Associates Degree or 60 college credits or State/Local ParaPro Assessment test required
    3. Previous experience working with youth preferred
    4. Knowledge skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies
    5. Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    1. Strong internal and external communication skills both oral and written.
    2. Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
    3. Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
    4. Ability to maintain accurate records and reports monitor students and work with and secure the cooperation of students.
    5. Ability to use computers for email communications word processing data management and other assigned tasks as related to the position.
    6. Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
    7. Ability to interact cooperatively and courteously with staff students parents and community.
    8. Utilize with fidelity the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
    9. Ability to understand and maintain students and parents rights to confidentiality and not violate those rights; nor discuss students in inappropriate places or with anyone not in direct contact with such individual students.
    10. Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.
    11. Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws district procedures and Board policies; including mandatory reporting procedures.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Under the direction and supervision of the Elementary Interventionist Coordinator and the classroom teacher the MOWR has the following duties:
    1. Be knowledgeable of the basic course content for students; and educational goals and objectives for each assigned student.
    2. Assist in planning and providing literacy support to small groups of students (75% ofthe day).
    3. Assist with individual assessment of students.
    4. Collect analyze and maintain accurate records of student progress through the use of progress monitoring and formative assessments.
    5. Provide support for the emotional needs of students.
    6. Assist with providing a safe and supportive environment.
    7. Attend workshops or professional development in best practices in literacy.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

    While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to reach with hands and arms sit stand walk stoop and bend as necessary for student learning and safety. The employee maylift carry push pull or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 10 pounds and could occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. The employee will read correspondence and computer screens and use the telephone.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Indoors and outdoor environments in all types of noise level in the work environment is generally moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have contact with students staff and the public.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
    The Paraprofessional reports to the Principal or Site Administrator. The Paraprofessional will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
    INITIAL WAGE PLACEMENT PLAN:Starting at$14.70 Per Hour
    WORK YEAR: 9 Months / 6.5 hours per day
